Rugby is an inclusive sport and Wando Rugby strongly believes that no one should ever be turned away from the sport due to financial constraints. If you want to play, but need to make a special request regarding the fee (full or partial waiver or a payment plan), please complete this fee request
REGISTER (OR RENEW) USING RUGBY EXPLORER
You can register with Wando Rugby and pay for any season using USA Rugby's Rugby Xplorer.
If you registered via Rugby Xplorer in prior seasons (even if for a different rugby team than Wando), be sure to use the same email address that you used in the past.

If you encounter technical issues when using Rugby Xplorer, please email USA Youth & High School member support at registration@usayhsrugby.org.
WANDO RUGBY SEASONS OF PLAY
Wando Rugby plays three seasons of rugby:
Fall 7s
Winter
Spring
Each season is separate and has its own fee; players may register and participate in any, or all, seasons
Practice for all seasons is every Tue & Thu from 5-7pm at Cario Middle School field
Come to practice and give it a try EVEN if you haven't registered yet!
Registration fees for the seasons are:
Fall: $200 + processing fee (Registration begins Sept 1, 2024)
Winter: $300 + processing fee (Registration begins Nov 1, 2024)
Spring: $300 + processing fee (Registration begins Mar 1, 2025)
Notes:
Your RX registration cost for your first season of play in 2024-25 will be higher due to paying your annual fees to USA Rugby, USA Youth & High School, and Rugby South Carolina.
Any player transferring into Wando Rugby from another club (for example, Oceanside, Lucy Beckham, Bishop England or James Island), must also initiate a transfer request following the transfer instructions near the bottom of this page so they can be transferred from their original team's roster to the Wando Rugby roster
The Wando Rugby season fees above covers the basics of making sure that Wando Rugby can:
lease a field for practices/matches
purchase equipment such as balls and tackle pads
pay referees and athletic trainers for home matches
send our volunteer coaches to away matches
other expenses needed to operate the club
Fall Season Overview

Sun Oct 27, 2024 - Pinehurst, NC
Either a 7's tournament in Greer, SC or in Florida - TBD
Winter Season Overview
November thru February
Local games along with multiple away games in Columbia, Greer, Charlotte, and likely other locations
Matches are both 10s style rugby and 15s style rugby
Spring Season Overview
March thru May
Matches are 15s style rugby only
Travel increases in the spring with games against teams in the North Carolina Youth Rugby Union (Charlotte, Raleigh, Clayton, Southern Pines, and others)
Participation in the 2-day Charlotte Ruggerfest tournament (the largest youth rugby tournament in the US)
Potential for elite, post-season play in May (which may include national-level tournaments that require air travel)
The spring season fee is not all-inclusive; please understand that most travel (including helping with player food & snacks, gas, hotel, and, potentially, even airfare) is a family responsibility. However, you will find the rugby community to be like few others - other parents and players come together to ride-share, room-share, fund-raise and enable our children to play this amazing sport. The board and coaches help facilitate this and ask for your help and participation to make the season successful.
The club continues to look for opportunities to play closer to home; kindly keep the above travel requirements in mind. If you are unable to attend all weekend match opportunities or tournaments, the Tuesday/Thursday training sessions offer an incredible opportunity to learn or improve your rugby skills and IQ with our fantastic, volunteer coaches, improve your physical fitness, and join the rugby community - we have a unique ethos and culture unlike any other sport you have participated in.
Transferring To Wando Rugby From Another Club
Go into your membership page in RX, try to register with Wando Rugby.
The system will block the request and prompt you to submit a transfer request. This will send a notification to your home club and local union, informing each of your intent to transfer.
If you have no outstanding financial or disciplinary issues, the home club and local union will approve the transfer.
Once approved (or denied) for the transfer, you will receive an email notification confirming the transfer has been approved (or denied).
If approved by both the home club and local union, you must go back to your RX account and continue to register for Wando Rugby. You will be charged the Wando Rugby membership fee for the season. IF transferring in from a club outside of Rugby South Carolina, you may be required to pay a Rugby South Carolina fee as well.
At this point you will appear on the Squad Member list of Wando Rugby.
Rugby is an inclusive sport and Wando Rugby strongly believes that no one should ever be turned away from the sport due to financial constraints. If you want to play but are not able to pay the fee at this time, please complete this fee request.
